Amaravati: The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on Tuesday approved 31 projects involving an investment of ₹31,436 crore, with a potential to generate 1.11 lakh jobs across sectors such as industries, energy, IT, tourism and food processing.
Chairing the 16th SIPB meeting, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to tap the State’s vast solar energy potential, with a strong focus on developing Rayalaseema as a major renewable energy hub. He called for large-scale investments in solar parks in the region and stressed the need to build robust transmission infrastructure to enable power supply within and beyond the State.
Naidu said transmission networks should be strengthened to connect with both State and national grids, facilitating interstate power distribution in the future.
The Chief Minister also emphasised positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for consumer electronics manufacturing, identifying Sri City, Kopparthy and Anantapur as key centres. He called for strengthening the IT ecosystem and promoting Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
The SIPB approved proposals from three companies in Amaravati Quantum Valley and encouraged projects that convert agricultural, horticultural and aquacultural waste into value-added products such as ethanol.
Highlighting industrial safety, Naidu directed the formulation of standard operating procedures aligned with disaster management norms for sectors including pharma, steel, green energy and battery storage systems.
He stressed that all approved projects must be grounded within stipulated timelines and that MoUs signed during investor summits should be implemented without delay.
To boost food processing and MSMEs, the Board decided to expand processing capacity in line with rising horticulture output and enhance marketing support for crops like palm oil and cocoa.
